Philip graduated from University of Liverpool with Honours in 1983. He won prizes in pathology and clinical studies, and also gained a distinction in veterinary anatomy. He is a past president of the Western Counties Veterinary Association and Okehampton Agricultural Show. Responsibilities outside the practice have included being a school governor and a treasurer of Okehampton and District Round Table. Philip is interested in all aspects of companion animal veterinary care and particularly enjoys challenging surgical cases.
Alex graduated from Bristol University in 2003 and worked in Leicestershire and Cheshire before moving to Okehampton with her husband Chris (who is also a vet) in 2008. Alex joined us at Okeford in April 2013. She enjoys all aspects of first opinion work and has a particular interest in the care of older feline and canine patients. Outside of work her two daughters keep her busy and the whole family love to go walking with their much loved dog, Vinny.
Sarah joined Okeford in 2016, having graduated from the Royal Veterinary College. Sarah has a particular interest in internal medicine, cardiology and emergency and critical care.
Kirstin graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2001. She has been practising at Okeford for over 15 years and has recently taken on the role of clinical director here at the practice. She completed her RCVS certificate in veterinary dermatology in 2017 and enjoys complex medical cases. Over the years she has helped train several veterinary nurses and acts a mentor to new staff. She participates in the marketing aspect of the business which includes organising an annual charity dog show and attendance at local agricultural shows. In her time outside work, she is a dedicated mother of two, a school governor and an avid runner with her beloved dog Lola.
