We are a small animal practice in Devon, first established in 1988. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care.
Rosie joined Okeford in 2009 having previously worked in the Civil Service as a job centre manager and as a business/administration manager for various local authorities and the probation service. The role is more varied than she could ever have imagined and covers all administrative aspects of managing the practice – from dealing with the accounts for the practice, processing invoices and client payments, looking after health and safety and staff management, through to making appointments for clients and answering a range of general enquiries. Outside work Rosie is kept fully occupied by her Cavapoo who seems to have constant energy, even after a long walk on Dartmoor!
Barbara joined Okeford in 2014 and is always working hard behind the scenes looking after all the financial aspects of the practice.
Elaine started at the practice in 1995. She volunteers for Cats Protection and tries very hard not to take kittens home! Elaine has a keen interest in dog agility and spends most weekends during the summer at shows and training during the winter. She and her husband have some cows and get very excited every time a calf is born.
Lucy joined Okeford as a receptionist in November 2016. Since starting she has loved getting to know clients and their pets, especially when she gets to have cuddles with all the puppies and kittens coming in for their vaccinations! Outside of work Lucy lives on a farm and is kept busy with four dogs and eight cats. In her spare time she enjoys going for dog walks on the moor, going to festivals and watching a good TV boxset.
Isabelle joined the Okeford team in January 2017. Having previously worked in animal care and dentistry, she has enjoyed learning new skills and meeting clients and their pets. Outside of work Isabelle has her own harem of animals to keep her busy. They range from a dog to small furies and all are rescued. If she is not out walking with the pooch then she will be found enjoying craft work or spending quality time with family and friends, usually over a meal out, watching a good film at the cinema or over numerous cups of tea!
