February 2008 - Rupert Edwin
Rupert Edwin’s ordeal
Rupert was rushed to us early on morning by his owner. He had become very lethargic and upon arrival at the practice, he collapsed. He was immediately admitted for radiographs and further tests. Rupert was kept in over night on fluids and monitored closely. The blood results showed an increased number of white blood cells which may have indicated an infection. The radiographs also revealed aspondylitis – inflammation of the joints between the vertebrae in the spine. Antibiotics were administered. Over time and with lots of nursing care Rupert made a full recovery and is back to normal health.
